Silly me. It would appear that one cannot have a blog draft up and open on the laptop, the dining room table full of tax forms and receipts, and think that I can multi-task with both. I fear if I try, my accountant is going to get one hell of a personal story, and all of you will get way too of my financial life!
Back in a couple of days… wish me luck!
My sincerest sympathies….

Oy, thanks. I really thought this year would be easier even with the retirement. And in fact it is compared to last year, but still so many freakin’ pieces of paper!

I know. I don’t have all my “papers” yet so I haven’t started. Somehow when we got married, my husband got the garbage routine and I got the taxes!

Thank you! Done and mailed back to the accountant. Now the wait to see if we get actual cold, hard cash back in our hands. Finally, money the ex can’t get her grimy hands on!

I don’t think I’ve ever had a tax rebate, which is surprising considering that Brits pretty much get taxed on EVERYTHING. I have worked all my adult life and probably paid a fair bit in income tax yet have never had a penny back 😦
